to your kindness I implore you to consider admitting to Canada the about 500
sole remaining Vietnamese 'refugees' in the Philippines under the "Country
of Asylum" class. Based on pass records of the fine contributions of the
Vietnamese community in Canada and other country of refuge, I am sure that
given the opportunity these poor people have much to offer Canada. In sum, I
hope you can help these unfortunate people by giving them a chance to be
productive citizens of Canada. Kind regards, Dr. Nguyen, Huu Manh Duy.

Anh Tran - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada: First of all, I would like to
thank the Canadian Government to accept Vietnamese Boat People in 1980; my
uncles were among these people. You changed their lives. Talking about
Vietnamese Canadians in general, people always see us as the hard working
and faithful citizens. We were the new comers once and we did quickly adapt
to the new environment. We have all put a lot of effort to enrich our
communities. You did make a difference in our lives; please help these 500
people, who went through the same difficult paths as we did before. We
promise that our Vietnamese community in Ottawa will help and welcome these
new comers when they arrive in Canada.
