• 9/5/2005: Bill Siksay, a Canadian Member of Parliament is speaking today, in the House of Commons about the case of the Vietnamese boat people.
   
• More than 27,000 signatures has been collected including roughly 18,000 in Canada and elsewhere and 9,000 from the World e-Petitions online at www.sosvietphi.org. Petitioners from more than 28 countries around the world, from Austria to Vietnam, have made their call to the government of Canada to recognize this last group of Vietnamese Boat People as refugees, and allow resettlement for some 500 individuals on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. In Canada alone, people from more than 90 towns and cities have signed the petition.
  Hơn 27,000  chữ ký (khoảng 18,000 tại Canada)vận động với chính phủ Canada Công nhận thuyền nhân tại Philippines là người tị nạn và Cho phép để tư nhân tại Canada dễ dàng bảo lãnh 500 trong số 2,000 thuyền nhân tại Philippines đến từ hơn 28 quốc gia trên thế giới. Riêng tại Canada, dân chúng từ hơn 90 thị xã và thành phố đã cùng ký tên vào thỉnh nguyện thư.

• 20.5.2005: "Howard Adelman Award"

  "Thoi Bao", a Vietnamese Newspaper distributed in 3 Canadian major cities, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, with subsidiaries in the US, has last week instituted an award named after the founder of "Operation Lifeline" which in the late 70's and early 80's help save thousands and thousands of Vietnamese Boat People as well as Cambodian and Laotian refugees. Our source discloses that the first recipient will be SOS Viet Phi. The event will take place in Toronto May 20, 2005

  "Thời Báo", tờ báo phát hành hai số mỗi tuần tại 3 thành phố Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal tại Canada và có đại lý ở Hoa Kỳ, vừa thành lập giải thưởng "Howard Aldelman", theo tên của người sáng lập chiến dịch Operation Lifeline.  Operation Lifeline đã đón tiếp hơn 60,000 thuyền nhân vào định cư tại Canada trong những năm cuối 70s và đầu 80s.  Theo nguồn tin đáng tin cậy, tổ chức đầu tiên nhận giải "Howard Adelman" là SOS Việt Phi. Lễ trao giải thưởng tổ chức tại Toronto, ngày 20 tháng 5, 2005.
   

• 23/5/2005: Fundraising in Ottawa to help SOS Viet Phi

  SOS Viet Phi's volunteers have mostly used their own resources and uncounted times to devote themselves to finding a "Canadian Home" for our Vietnamese last boat people.

  VNHelp - Ottawa will bring to town a "Soiree Musicale-Buổi Văn Nghệ Tình Thương 5" featuring Bằng Kiều and Hồ Lệ Thu from the US  abd our well-loved home grown Canadian-based singers: Xuân-Mai, Vân-Trang, Quốc-Trung và Ái-Vi.  MCs: Nguyễn Cao Kỳ Duyên and her life-partner Trịnh Hội, the young man who has spent more than 8 years rescuing boat people.
